Vorwerk is an international corporate company headquartered in Germany. The main business is the distribution of various products like household appliances (e.g. Kobold vacuum cleaners), fitted kitchens or cosmetics. Vorwerk was founded in 1883. The family enterprise, which is operated as a limited partnership, has 12,000 full-time employees and over 590,000 self-employed sales representatives in over 70 countries worldwide (as of 2014). The largest proportion of sales representatives (546,000) work for the US-based subsidiary JAFRA Cosmetics. For the year 2014, the company posted revenues of €2.8 billion.
We were lucky enough to be given the task of creating their new customer brochure for their Thermomix product.
The Thermomix is a kitchen appliance made by the Corporate Group Vorwerk.
The word “Thermomix” comes from the combination of “thermo” (heating) and “mix” (mixing). The current Thermomix provides three basic functions: A heating element, a motor for fast or slow blending and stirring, and a scale that can weigh the stack of cooking pots and pans. The functions can be accessed simultaneously to provide what the manufacturer calls “12 functions”: steaming, emulsifying, blending, precise heating, mixing, milling, whipping, kneading, chopping, weighing, grinding and stirring. Several of these differ only by the speed of the motor.
The Brochure showcases all the features of the Thermomix product. The design keeps within the brand guidelines of Vorwerk, using their green colour and fonts but uses some unique layouts to show the different features this product has to offer.
